The Nameless Gate
In ancient East Asian philosophy, the northeast direction is known as kimon, or the “Demon’s Gate”. It is considered a highly inauspicious direction from which evil spirits (oni or yōkai) enter and bring misfortune. Throughout history, there have been many paths to the nameless gate. None of them are straight.
