The rhythm of your writing can be profoundly influenced by what you listen to. Moving beyond the realms of silence, spoken words, or the lively chatter of children at home, most writers find solace in one of two auditory companions: white noise or music. Either way creative writing music is, at least in my opinion, essential to the process. Below, I’m going to share what I’ve been listening to and why.
During my university years, white noise was my faithful study partner. However, its role in my life has since evolved to a sleep aid. It’s a wonderful tool, and if it works for your writing process, I’m all for it!
But for those who resonate more with melodies, let’s talk about music. In the late summer, I began experimenting with ambient music during my writing sessions, and it has been a game-changer. The online world is brimming with such tracks, offering a rich variety to suit any writer’s mood and need, whether it’s for drafting or editing.
I’m excited to share with you some of the tracks that have become staples in my writing routine. Perhaps they will spark your own musical journey, enhance your reading experience of my upcoming book, or even inspire your next great piece of writing.
