The Timeline

//> stepping out of the peace and safety of distant and dark history, humanity finds its memory short and opaque. memories linger, just as habits boil up from genomic manipulations.  civilization can only comprehend the briefest millennium. everything else is immemorial and shadow.

//> HiRO technology has replaced the soul with relentless utility. prototypes preach a new faith born of birth-sin, while oragnics seeking self-fulfillment and redemption. Everyone else is just trying to get rich or break the leash.

//> an unspoken and uneasy truce. FTL has pushed the species further into the stars. Rumors and accusations. theft and sabotage. the war continues, but no one is willing to admit it’s good for business.

//> origin burns from orbital bombardments. the m-corps have won and divided the spoils. imaginary lines on old maps. what they really seek is power and a list of the old guard to blame. everything else is distraction. unlock the future.

A Return to the Warning of Dystopia

The seventeenth species, a heretical idea peddled by zero-mods set on terrorizing an oppressed civilization, simmers in defiance of technocratic society. Everyone else has committed to a faith founded on birth-sin, organic inadequacies that hold back the comforts of the living and diminutize the value of their nigh immortal half-death bodies.

Transhuman science fiction has never looked like this.

ChromaSpyke brings a new dark vision of the far-future, a new set of warnings and consequences, and a new universe of characters who are ready to meeting the challenge

  • Daphemi corpse units
  • Body contracts + organic commodification
  • Arbiters, syndicates + megacorps
  • Depth of universe, layers of intrigue + interlocking story arcs

this is a populated universe with teeming masses of people, planetary factories, and fleets without need for ports.

no faction tropes. no super heroes. no casting magical computer hacks. whether you’re reading about a character or playing one, everyone gets their hands dirty. everyone suffers or carries the burden of their ambition.

hope ends in martyrdom.

  • Power without safeguards
  • system-level oppression
  • everyone thinks they’re an anti-hero
  • a blurred line between justice and lawlessness, personal history becomes a litany of guilt

Far Future Realism

Evolving Through Diaspora and War

if history is written by the victors, the future will be defined by those who adapt.

while cybernetics cost more than credits, they too have been counterfeited — just like food, air, sunlight, happiness, and fear.

there’s little difference between consumerism and propaganda, even less between success and rebellion. truth is a personal endeavor. identity a projection cast by peripherals. family is an list of names never met, places never seen, and language that passes as code.

  • a return to tribalism
  • divergent paths
  • without a past, rebirth is possible
  • some names never die
