After losing almost everything in one’s life, what choice is there but to move on? Absence brings change and the opportunity for growth, but this brings Paul closer to the eccentricities and madness of new world. As he begins to understand, the only real lesson to be learned is that his own madness has cost him the most. What’s left might be the only thing worth holding on to.
There are a lot of layers to this story. At face value, Paul’s collision with the unknown and the unsettling challenges he faces carry the story. Astute readers may be able to find references to other authors’ unpublished works. The overall themes are as sharp as any science fiction or cyberpunk Arkhelian has published.
About This Book:
The Land of Dark Idols is the first book by The Twelfth Stephaniak offered through Arkhelian. It represents a new mythos universe for liminal and cosmic horror readers — similar to Richard Chambers’ The King in Yellow and H.P. Lovecraft’s Call of Cthulhu. The story is cosmic horror but has elements of liminal fiction. This universe will continue to expand.
